to input directional icons in time. - You can input up to 3 directional icons per cycle, and each directional icon transforms into an action icon!
- The transformation follows a set of rules in the table below.
For 1P, think of the left arrow as Advance, the down arrow as Basic Attack, and the right arrow as Charge. And the up arrow? It’s the Reverse function! The up arrow can reverse only Advance and Basic Attack, switching Advance to Retreat and Basic Attack to Counter.
What about Charge? Think of it as gathering energy. When you gather energy and then press down (Attack), it becomes a Charged Attack! However, if you gather energy and press up (Reverse), it turns into Defense.
If you gather energy three times, you collect a Star! The first to collect 7 Stars wins. Stars can only be earned at the center or opponent’s side.
Each cycle, you can input three actions (doing nothing also counts as an action). Both you and your opponent act out one action at a time, completing the cycle based on your planned moves. Strategize your commands carefully to collect Stars and outwit your opponent!
Detailed Move Descriptions
- Advance (Left): Move one space toward the enemy’s territory. You can’t pass the enemy, and priority goes to units at your base. For example, if the configuration is (enemy)-(your unit)-() and both choose to Advance, it’ll become ()-(enemy, your unit)-().
- Retreat (Up-Left): Move one space back toward your territory.
- Attack (Down): A basic attack that deals 1 damage to one enemy.
- Counter (Up-Down): Reflects incoming attacks! Especially useful against multiple enemies, as it returns all damage.
- Defense (Up-Right): Blocks incoming attacks, typically granting invulnerability. Shield units gain extra defense but can't block excessive damage.
- Charged Attack (Right-Down): A powerful attack that inflicts 3 damage on one enemy after gathering energy.
- Super Charged Attack (Right-Right-Down): An even stronger attack that inflicts 5 damage on one enemy after gathering more energy.
- Star Collecting (Right-Right-Right): Earn points! 1 point at the center, 2 points in enemy territory. Points are based on the farthest forward unit, regardless of the number of units.
Game Rules
- Map layout: (2P or AI Base) – (Center) – (1P Base).
- Each cycle has two phases: command input and action execution.
- You can freely input any combination of directions within the 3 slots, with each direction converting into specific actions.
- Units spawn after the first 2 cycles and every 3 cycles thereafter. Before a unit spawns, you’ll see a ripple effect on the base.
- Bases have a healing function. If the base is empty, all units heal for 2; if occupied, they heal for 1.
Classes
- Basic (1/10): Standard unit.
Shieldman: Has enhanced Defense action.
- Torns (1/8): Gains 2 defense for each Defense action, disappearing at the end of the action. Enemies take 1 damage if they attack this unit.
- Recoil (1/5): Gains 2 defense for each Defense action, disappearing at the end of the action. Deals 3 damage to any enemy after blocking three attacks.
- Slammer (0/8): Gains 2 defense on the first Defense action, 1 on the second, and accumulates it. Attack power increases by the accumulated defense and is consumed during attacks. Charged Attacks deal damage equal to accumulated power plus charge count.
Attackman: Has an enhanced Attack action.
- Glass (2/5): Basic attack power is increased to 2. Charged Attack power is 4 and 6 per charge.
- Leach (1/4): Recovers health up to 7 when dealing damage with basic attacks.
- Third (1/6): Every third successful attack deals 3 damage. Charged Attack power is 5 and 7 per charge.
Tricky: Has unique behavior changes.
- Stunner (1/6): Can only perform one attack per cycle (down key can be input multiple times). Marks the enemy on a successful hit; if attacked again in the next cycle, the marked enemy is stunned for one cycle.
- Breaker (1/7): Stuns the enemy for one cycle when performing Defense at the same timing as the enemy.
- Chaser (1/6): Deals 1 damage to both the starting and ending points when moving. Does not deal damage on stationary moves.
Memorize these rules, and you’re all set to enjoy the game!
